Weekend Fun

This weekend was one of the best we have ever had. It started with a trip to the Denver Art Museum yesterday. I have never been there before. Jose had class in the morning, and then Jasmine and I rode the light rail and met him downtown.

Here is a cool picture that Jose took while waiting for us on the light rail.

When we got to the museum there was a "Bubble Room." It was a dark room with light up bubbles and a projector on the ceiling that displayed bubbles. Then if you jumped on them they popped. Jasmine thought it was so much fun to "pop" the bubbles.

At the end of the museum was a kids play area. Jasmine played with some blocks and climbed/sat on the stuffed turtle.

After the museum we went to Highlands Ranch to my manager's house for a BBQ in honor of her son's safe homcoming from the Marines. There was a little boy there named Kearin and he was a month younger than Jasmine. They had lots of fun playing with the wheel on the cooler.

Next up was my sorority reunion today. It was at Eisenhower Park in Englewood. It was so nice to see everyone. Many of the girls there I hadn't seen since I graduated 7 years ago! It was a fun weekend.

Here is Jasmine on my cell phone. This was also the first time I was able to get Jasmine's hair in pigtails. I took a picture of it once, but she took it out right away. This time she left it in all day.

Jasmine found a Tootsie Pop in my purse and took it upon herself to take the wrapper off and eat it.

Here is a video of Jasmine with Jose's camera. She always sees him holding it up to his face so she did the same and kept saying "Cheese, cheese!"

More Jasmine Videos

So my mom requested some videos of Jasmine's face close up. Here are some that I took last night. They aren't about anthing special, just her walking around.

This first one is of her hitting the camera because she didn't want me to tape her. I just think it's funny that I have one of her being bratty. That's one to show her when she get's older ;).

This next one is of her bringing diapers to me.

And of course, what are diapers, without taking out all the wipes?

Jasmine Found Some Napkins

Usually Jasmine will rip off pieces of toilet paper and throw them into the toilet. Well since we were in the kitchen, she discovered some napkins in the cupboard. She took a bunch out and spread them out over the floor. She then started "scrubbing" the floor with them. My little cleaner. I have taught her well :).

Jasmine Videos

Here is a fun video of Jasmine walking. She just started last week. She looks a little like Frankenstein because she holds her arms out in front of her to keep her balance.

Here is a video of Jasmine giving kisses and playing peek-a-boo with me. I tried to get her to touch her nose but of course she wouldn't do it on camera. If you ask her where her nose is, she always puts her finger in her right nostril and says,"Nose, nose." I am trying to teach her that you can touch your nose without putting your finger in the nostril. She also tries to put her finger in my nostril if I ask her where Mommy's nose is :).

Work Picnic 8-22-09

Saturday was our department picnic. We had it at Bear Creek Lake Park. We have never been there before. It has a lake and horseback riding. We did an Around the World theme, so we each had to bring a dish from our nationality. I made an enchillada casserole for Jose and my stemom made me some kim bap (Korean version of sushi) and some kimchee. Everyone loved the Korean food!

Jasmine playing on the lake's beach.

We bought this floating thing for Jasmine to use on our upcoming Disney trip and Cruise. We thought we would test it out at the lake. She loved it! She was able to move around and splash and I loved that the sun was shaded from her .

Family Day

We wanted to test out Jose's new camera some more, so we headed to the park today. There is a War Memorial with a rose garden a few minutes from our house. It's in Old Littleton. Here are the great pictures that we were able to take.

I love this picture because it looks like Jasmine is hitch hiking.

Jasmine started walking finally a few days ago!

Jasmine Dancing

We picked up the CD Livin' la Vida Mickey from the library. It was a CD that we used to always play at the Gourmet Pantry when I worked at Disney World. It's full of Disney versions of salsa type music.

Here is Jasmine dancing :). She is saying D D D which means dance, dance, dance :).

Jose’s New Camera

Jose is going back to school to get his Bachelor’s Degree. He is getting it at Metro State. His degree will be a Bachelor of Arts with an emphasis in Photography. We bought him a new camera so that he can use it for his classes and also so I have better scrapbooking pictures. Our work pays for the tuition and books, so you can’t beat that deal!

We bought the Nikon D-60. Our friend Lori had one when she was here visiting and Jose really liked it. Here are some samples of what it can do. The quality is amazing. I can’t wait to see how the pictures turn out on our vacation in a couple of months!

This was a flower at work.

My Poor Little Jasmine

Jasmine had a fever all day yesterday. We kept giving her Motrin, but it didn't seem to help. She would go back and forth with being cheerful and then whimpering.

She fell asleep on the car ride home. I tried to give her some dinner, but she ended up throwing up all over the couch and then again in her high chair. It was projectile vomit, so it got all over Jose.

I stayed up late working on my Fieldwork Denver project. When I went up to bed at 11:30, Jasmine was awake and crying. I felt her and she was burning up. Even the bottom of her feet were hot to the touch.

I took her temperature and it was 103.5! I called Kaiser's after hours and they said that she should be OK and just to watch her. They said that they usually don't start to worry until it's over 105! K, that's 5 degrees too high for me.

Jose ended up sleeping on the floor so that Jasmine could sleep in bed with me and we wouldn't be too crowded. I gave her more Motrin and that seemed to help this time. She started talking and playing. I kept telling her she needed to sleep since it was after 1:00am.

So she finally fell asleep and was feeling better this morning. I gave her some more Motrin and hopefully she is out of the woods. Poor thing. Breaks my heart when she is sick.

Jasmine Brushing Her Teeth

I have been brushing Jasmine’s teeth and gums with a washcloth since she was born. This weekend we finally thought it was time to try a toothbrush and toothpaste. We bought a cute little Winnie the Pooh toothbrush.

I initially thought that we would struggle to brush her teeth. Whenever we do it with the washcloth, she gets made and won’t open her mouth or tries to bite down. Well she loves the toothbrush! She held very still and was tilting her head up when I was brushing them.

Then we handed her the toothbrush and told her to brush her teeth, and she started doing it herself. She even got mad when I took it away from her to go to bed.

Here is a video of her doing it on her own.

Here is a picture of her this morning. She turned 16 months old on Saturday. Here she is next to Mickey. This adorable dress is from Crystal :).

Weekend Fun

This weekend we were out and about. Saturday Jose worked and then we went to Clement Park when he got home. We were hoping that Jasmine would do some more walking, but no luck. She did have a lot of fun going down the slide.

Then Sunday there was a family picnic at the Ritz-Carlton in downtown Denver. It was a lot of fun. I got to meet some of Jose's co-workers, and I also got to see my old manager from the Denver West Marriott, Natalie. She is the executive assistant to the GM at the Ritz now.

Jasmine on one of the fluffy couches at the hotel. Ellen loved this chandelier when we took her to the hotel, so I had to take a picture for her.

Natalie and Me

Jasmine loved the bouncy castle! It was a giant tiger.

Then to finish off the night, Kristen and Jason came over for dinner last night. We ate some yummy food and then had a Disney planning session. They are joining us on the second half of the trip. We booked our tickets for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, and also talked more details about what we want to do each day. We are almost to the home stretch! Everything has been paid for, and most of it has been planned. We just have a few more details to iron out, and then we are ready to go. I hope Jasmine loves cruising as much as we do.
