A friend of ours, Duke, works as a volunteer firefighter at the Golden Fire Department. He was generous enough to let us bring the girls in to see the station and the fire trucks back in August. The girls had a blast getting to touch everything, and even sitting up in the driver's seat.
All of them had their gear set out and ready to go, so I couldn't resist putting on the hat. I couldn't believe how heavy it was. It amazes me that they are able to keep that on and not have their heads tip over!
The girls also loved seeing him slide down the pole. It was a fun opportunity and we learned a lot!
